About Soft Tissue Grafting
Soft tissue grafting encompasses a group of procedures that are used to treat gum recession. These treatments are tailored to each individual’s needs - both root coverage and recreation of healthy supporting gum tissues are outcomes of these procedures. As periodontists, we are often referred patients who need this type of surgery for management of gingival recession defects.
How does the treatment work?
Soft tissue grafting is primarily performed using tissues from the roof of the mouth. The tissue is then transplanted to the area that requires treatment. In our office, we use a wide variety of treatment techniques for soft tissue grafting tailored to each patient’s individual needs.
