Aly Kennedy, DDS, MS

Dr. Aly (Ricker) Kennedy was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana and attended college at Indiana University in Bloomington. She returned to Indianapolis to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at Indiana University School of Dentistry, during which time she was awarded the Dr. David Whiston Leadership Award by the ADA Foundation and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a national dental honor society. Dr. Kennedy moved to Texas to complete her 3-year residency training program at Texas A&M (Baylor) University College of Dentistry in Dallas, where she earned her Specialty Certificate in Periodontics and Master of Science degree in Oral Biology for her thesis project researching oral lichen planus. Dr. Kennedy served as chief resident in the final year of her residency. During her time in Dallas, she and her husband fell in love with Texas and decided to plant their roots in East Texas. Dr. Kennedy is a board-certified periodontist, and was named the recipient of the Leslie M. Salkin Award, which is presented each year to the candidate who earns the highest score on the Oral Board Exam.

Dr. Kennedy is married to her high school sweetheart, Dr. Kyle Kennedy, a psychologist in Tyler. In their free time, they enjoy walks with their rescue dog (Ranger), grilling, golfing, and traveling. They are members of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Dr. Kennedy holds a leadership position with the Junior League of Tyler, and is involved in various dental organizations including the East Texas Dental Society, Spear Study Club, the Texas Society of Periodontists, the Southwest Society of Periodontists, and the American Academy of Periodontology.

Dr. Kennedy is dedicated to providing the most comprehensive periodontal care possible to her patients, taking time during each patient’s consultation visit to identify their unique needs and develop specialized treatment plans for each individual. As a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, she strives to care for all patients with compassion and technical excellence and provides patients with the tools to achieve optimal oral health.
